How to Add Copyright-Free Music to YouTube
A copyright claim can demonetise your video or mute your audio. The fix is using royalty-free, no-copyright music. Here is how to add it safely and where to get free tracks.
What "copyright-free" really means
Copyright-free (or royalty-free) music is licensed so you can use it without paying per play and without triggering Content ID claims. It is not the same as "free to download" music you found somewhere — always confirm the license allows monetised use.
EditVaultz background music is original and cleared for monetised YouTube, Reels and TikTok, so it will not generate claims or strikes.
Adding music to your edit
Import the track onto a dedicated audio track below your voiceover. Lower the music volume to around -18 to -22 dB under speech so dialogue stays clear, and add a short fade-in and fade-out at the start and end.

Frequently asked questions
Will royalty-free music still get a copyright claim?
Genuinely royalty-free, original tracks like those on EditVaultz will not generate Content ID claims. Re-uploaded popular songs labelled "free" often will.
How loud should background music be?
Keep music roughly 15–20 dB quieter than your voiceover so speech stays clear and intelligible.
