How to Install Fonts for Video Editing
Custom fonts make titles, lower thirds and thumbnails stand out. Once a font is installed on your system, every editing application can use it. Here is the process on each operating system.
Installing on Windows
Download the font file (.ttf or .otf). Right-click the file and choose "Install for all users". The font is now available system-wide. If Premiere Pro or After Effects was already open, restart it to pick up the new font.
Installing on Mac
Double-click the font file. Font Book opens with a preview. Click "Install Font". It becomes available in all applications immediately — no restart needed in most cases.
Using in your editor
In Premiere Pro, create a new Title (Essential Graphics) and select the installed font from the font dropdown. In After Effects, select a text layer and choose the font in the Character panel. In CapCut desktop, the font appears in the text tool font list after installation.
If a font does not appear, confirm you installed it for all users (not just the current user) and restart the editor.
